Originally founded as a military settlement, Khabarovsk is the capital of Khabarovsk Territory in Far Eastern Russia, located on the great Amur River. With a population estimated at nearly 600,000, the city is a major industrial and cultural center.

Visitors to picturesque Khabarovsk are likely to enjoy walking the broad Amursky Boulevard, with its many vibrant shops, Orthodox Churches, and museums. The downtown area has been renovated in recent years, updating public facilities while maintaining historic structures and architecture.
